Ontario has invited Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores as low as 290 in a recent draw through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream.
On September 5, the province issued 86 invitations to candidates with CRS scores between 290 and 393.
The draw targeted profiles created in the IRCC’s Express Entry system between September 5, 2023, and September 5, 2024. Classified as a general draw, it did not focus on specific occupations or skill sets within the French-speaking skilled worker category.
Candidates needed work experience in TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3 under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) to qualify for this program.
Candidates were also required to meet language proficiency benchmarks, achieving at least a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 in French and a CLB level 6 in English.
This draw highlights Ontario’s ongoing effort to attract French-speaking skilled workers, aiming to address the province’s labor market needs while supporting the growth of its Francophone communities.
In addition to a pending Federal Express Entry application, applicants must have at least one year of full-time or equivalent work experience under NOC TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3.
Candidates must also possess a Canadian equivalent Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree and meet the necessary language requirements.
Finally, applicants must demonstrate their intention to reside in Ontario to qualify for the program.
