Manitoba conducted a new draw under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), issuing 399 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) on December 18, 2024. These invitations were distributed across three streams, targeting skilled workers and international graduates.
The International Education Stream (IES) received the largest share, with 297 LAAs issued. This stream is designed for graduates of Manitoba institutions who meet specific program criteria.
The Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream issued 102 invitations under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. Candidates in this category needed a minimum score of 630 points to qualify. Of the total invitations, 43 were extended to individuals with valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes, linking them to Canada’s federal immigration system.
This draw also highlighted the Skilled Worker in Manitoba (SWM) stream. This pathway is for individuals already employed in Manitoba or holding a job offer from a local employer. It includes two options:
The Manitoba Work Experience Pathway is designed for individuals working in the province, including international graduates, even if their job is not listed as in demand. The Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway is aimed at international applicants who have job offers from approved employers in Manitoba.
The Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream also provides two key routes for candidates. The Manitoba Express Entry Pathway is available for those eligible under other MPNP streams with skills in in-demand occupations and close ties to the province. The Human Capital Pathway focuses on skilled workers with experience in Manitoba’s in-demand sectors, emphasizing their potential for employment in the province.
The International Education Stream (IES) offers three pathways. The Career Employment Pathway requires graduates to secure jobs in an in-demand field and reside in Manitoba. The Graduate Internship Pathway is available to advanced-degree holders completing internships through programs like Mitacs.
The Student Entrepreneur Pathway is for graduates operating businesses in Manitoba post-graduation, with no specific net worth requirement.
This draw emphasizes Manitoba’s commitment to attracting skilled workers and graduates who will contribute to the province’s economic growth.
