Manitoba issued 276 invitations in its latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, held on December 27, 2024. The invitations target candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream and focus on general and occupation-specific selections.
The province invited 239 candidates in its selection process, requiring a minimum score of 857 for a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA). Additionally, 18 invitations went to individuals in specific healthcare and transportation roles, including surgeons, general practitioners, family physicians, registered and psychiatric nurses, nurse practitioners, and bus drivers.
Furthermore, the province extended 19 invitations to candidates currently employed in the roles of restaurant and food service managers. These applicants were required to attain a minimum score of 632 in order to qualify.
The draw also highlighted Manitoba’s focus on candidates with valid Express Entry profiles. Of the total invitations, 56 candidates had valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes. These candidates may benefit from faster federal Express Entry system processing times.
Manitoba continues to prioritize addressing labor shortages through its PNP draws. The Skilled Worker in Manitoba (SWM) stream remains a key pathway for those already employed in the province or holding job offers from local employers. This stream offers pathways for temporary residents in Manitoba, and individuals recruited directly from overseas.
The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream targets applicants outside Canada with skills in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations. The stream offers two pathways: Manitoba Express Entry and the Human Capital Pathway. Both pathways focus on attracting skilled individuals who can integrate into the province’s labor market.
The International Education Stream supports graduates from Manitoba’s post-secondary institutions. It provides pathways for those with local job offers, internship experience, or entrepreneurial ventures within the province. This stream aims to retain international graduates and encourage them to build careers in Manitoba.
The latest draw reflects Manitoba’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its workforce by attracting skilled professionals in key sectors. The province remains committed to addressing labor market gaps and promoting long-term economic growth through immigration programs.
