Prince Edward Island (PEI) has confirmed the remaining draw schedule for its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in 2025, giving immigration candidates a clear timeline to plan their applications. The province conducts regular Expression of Interest (EOI) draws to invite skilled workers, international graduates, and eligible entrepreneurs to apply for provincial nomination, a critical step toward obtaining Canadian permanent residence.
For the rest of 2025, four draws are planned: September 18, October 16, November 20, and December 18. These dates follow PEI’s pattern of holding monthly draws, which so far have occurred on schedule throughout the year. With seven draws already completed, the province has issued close to 800 invitations, leaving several hundred nomination spaces still open under its federal allocation of 1,025 nominations for 2025.
PEI’s PNP focuses primarily on candidates who can contribute to the province’s economic and labor market needs. The program targets three main streams: Labour Impact, Express Entry, and Business Impact. Most recent draws have concentrated on the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams, which favor skilled workers and those already in the federal Express Entry pool. Candidates with valid job offers from PEI employers or with work experience in sectors facing shortages—such as healthcare, skilled trades, and manufacturing—are prioritized. International graduates from PEI institutions like the University of Prince Edward Island and Holland College also receive special consideration, reinforcing the province’s commitment to retaining talent trained locally.
To enter the pool, applicants must first submit an Expression of Interest profile, which remains valid for six months. Profiles are scored on factors including work experience, education, language ability, and ties to the province. Those with higher scores and strong connections to PEI, such as employment or prior study, stand a better chance of receiving an invitation. While the province welcomes a broad range of applicants, it currently de-prioritizes many sales and service occupations to ensure that critical labor shortages are addressed first.
Prospective immigrants should pay careful attention to the published draw dates. Submitting a complete and accurate EOI well in advance allows candidates to maximize their chances of selection, especially as competition intensifies toward year’s end. Maintaining updated documentation—language test results, educational credentials, and proof of work experience—is essential to avoid delays or missed opportunities once an invitation is issued.
The Business Impact stream, which targets entrepreneurs willing to establish or manage businesses in the province, continues to operate alongside worker-focused pathways. However, its requirements differ significantly, often demanding a detailed business plan and evidence of management experience.
