Prince Edward Island has invited 48 skilled workers and entrepreneurs to apply for Canadian immigration through the province’s latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on September 20, 2024.
The invitations were issued across multiple streams, including the Labor Impact, Express Entry, and Business Impact categories of the PEI PNP. A total of 46 invitations went to candidates in the Labor Impact and Express Entry streams, focusing on those in the healthcare, construction, and trucking sectors and international graduates.
Meanwhile, two invitations were extended to Business Impact candidates, with a minimum score of 97 points required for eligibility.
Candidates nominated through the PEI PNP can add 600 points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.
The PEI Express Entry Category offers two pathways to permanent residency: one for candidates with a job offer and another for those without.
The Skilled Worker Stream, an employer-driven program, targets skilled workers who meet specific criteria, including a full-time job offer in an eligible occupation, post-secondary education, and relevant work experience. Candidates must also demonstrate language proficiency and provide proof of sufficient settlement funds.
The Critical Worker Stream addresses labor shortages in critical-demand occupations and is open to foreign workers already employed in PEI. Applicants must have a valid work permit and meet educational and work experience requirements.
In the Business Impact category, candidates must work for a PEI business under a Performance Agreement before investing at least $150,000 in the business and taking on day-to-day management responsibilities.
