Canada has officially held its first Express Entry draw of August 2025, continuing its strategy to invite skilled immigrants to support the country’s labor market needs.
In this latest round, candidates from the Express Entry pool who met the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score threshold were issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence. The draw type and CRS cutoff reflect ongoing priorities under category-based and general draws, focusing on sectors like healthcare, tech, trades, and more.
This draw signals that Canada remains committed to its immigration targets and is actively managing the intake of skilled workers through its Express Entry system. Candidates who received invitations should now prepare to submit their complete PR applications within the designated time frame.
Those still in the pool are encouraged to improve their CRS scores through language tests, educational credential assessments, or provincial nominations to increase their chances in upcoming draws.
